Creatine Powder from Oxford Vitality. Creatine is a nitrogenous organic compound found naturally in small quantities within the body. This nutrient can be synthesised in the kidney and liver at a rate of 1-2g/day. Creatine is made from the amino acids glycine and arginine. Majority of the compound resides in the muscles, most namely the heart muscle (95%).There are a number natural sources of Creatine, these are foods high in amino acids such as Beef, Salmon and Tuna.

When Creatine Monohydrate enters the body it absorbs into the blood stream and is delivered to large muscle groups such as the quadriceps, hamstrings, biceps and triceps. Creatine’s primary role is to supply energy to all cells of the body, primarily those of the muscle. Its main health claim is its beneficial properties on short bursts of intense exercise, such as weight lifting.

The body’s universal source of energy is Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). Once stores of ATP are depleted, the body must undergo a series of complex reactions to reform it. When ATP is used it is dephosphorylated, via the breaking of bonds. Dephosphorylation forms Adenosine Diphosphate (ADP) and a free phosphate, generating energy in the form the body can use. In order to reform ATP, ADP must be reacted with a molecule Phosphocreatine (PC). PC is made from Creatine, by lending a phosphate to phosphorylate ADP back to ATP. By supplementing the body’s natural levels of Creatine, it increases the ability to generate more ATP and thus more energy. Increasing energy can lead to increased training and performance.

Creatine is a popular supplement used in high performance athletes, body builders, wrestlers and short high power athletes such as sprinters.

We offer 3 size quantities of 25g, 500g and 100g for your tailored needs. The benefit of taking Creatine is its versatility. We recommend it as a nutritious addition to a shake.
